[edit] What is Continental Style?

Continent Style refers to the special appearance or design of the armor and housing from each of the three continents. It also, occasionally, is used to refer to the flags required to learn the recipes of a particular continent or to begin a certain quest.

In order to learn recipes in any particular Continental Style, you must:

  1. Complete the Style Quests for the continent you are interested in. This will grant you the flag required to purchase recipes for Tier 1, e.g. Novices, on that continent. You typically do not need to complete a Style quest for your home continent, as you will earn that flag in the Tutorial Quest line.
  2. Complete any additional Tier Quests for that continent. There are four additional tiers on each continent (Amateur, Apprentice, Initiate, Journeyman) and four associated tier quests. Each tier quest will grant you one new flag which allows you to purchase one new tier of recipes. For example, completing the Amateur style quests will only allow you to purchase recipes through level 20.

[edit] Benefits of Continental Style

For armor and weapons, crafting in a particular continental style will give the piece the unique look of one of the continental armor sets as well as stat bonuses in the form of an equipped effect. Each piece of the armor set worn by a player will stack this effect, increasing these numbers.

For crafted jewelry, each continent imbues items with different tiered properties unique to that continent. By default an artificer will imbue an item of jewelry with the continental effect of the continent they start their character in. Continental effects from other continents are earned by completing crafting quests in those continents. As additional continental effects are learned then each recipe offers the artificer the option as to which effect they desire to apply.

[edit] Other Crafting Considerations

Important: If the dusts applied to the item include an Equipped Effect, the continental effect will be lost on the item.
