Although the administrators and moderators of Vanguard Crafters Forums will attempt to keep all objectionable
messages off this forum, it is impossible for us to review all messages. All messages express the views of
the author, and neither the owners of Vanguard Crafters Forums, nor Jelsoft Enterprises Ltd. (developers of vBulletin)
will be held responsible for the content of any message.
By agreeing to these rules, you warrant that you will not post any messages that are obscene, vulgar,
sexually-oriented, hateful, threatening, or otherwise violative of any laws.
The owners of Vanguard Crafters Forums reserve the right to remove, edit, move or close any thread for any reason.
The following are the specific rules, for your consideration;
The site will be over-moderated. Repeatedly breaking the rules will get you banned.
1- Don't be a tool. Don't be a dink, jerk, dick, punk, or ass either. Treat people here with respect. Don't troll. We don't tolerate insulting behavior, boorish behavior, or any of the other stuff that makes forums cesspools. There are plenty of places which encourage trollish behavior, go there. People will be banned. We don't relish this but we love this site, and want to keep it mature and on-topic. We all get hot from time to time, and that is understandable. Corrective actions will include locking posts, deleting posts, warnings, suspension, or banning. The speed at which these remedies accelerate is directly proportional to the perceived egregiousness of the occurance.
2- Quitting the game. If you post that you have quit, we reserve the right to ban your account. This site is for the conversation of people playing the game. If you are predominantly negative and gone, you are gone here too. We reserve the right to ask "can we have your stuff." There will be no further warning.
3- We aren’t a conduit for you to play web-link games. If you put in any links that have any kind of credit in them for you to refer people to other sites, we are going to delete your post and ban your character. There are several different reasons for this and I don’t want to enumerate them for fear of giving someone an idea. Just know that this isn’t going to be tolerated. There will be no further warning.
4- This is an Official Affiliate Site. Talking about how you cheated, how others can cheat, or things you have done to circumvent the game's systems will get your post deleted and you banned. This ain't that kind of board. There will be no further warning.
5- If you start a rant thread in any other forum than "I don't want to go off on a rant here, but...", the administrator or moderators will move it to the correct forum or just delete it at our discretion. We’ll initially move rants to this forum. Repeatedly breaking the rule will get you banned.
6- If you reply with a rant in any other forum than "I don't want to go off on a rant here, but...", the administrator or moderators will delete it. You will be warned on your first occurrence. Repeatedly breaking the rule will get you banned.
7- Your account name should use the name of your in-game character if possible. We understand that people have multiple characters, and you might have changed characters, so you are on your honor here. The internet provides enough anonymity, you can at least let us know if we know you. Making a second account and posting with the intention of popping off anonymously is not acceptable. We track IP's.
8- Mule accounts are NOT allowed. Your accounts created to flame people will get banned including all the other accounts that have been used by you. If nobody knows who you are, and you are only known to flame people you will fall into this category. The administrator and moderators may judge for their own if your account is a mule or not. There will be no further warning.
9- Anything deemed sexually, racially, politically, or religiously oriented or inflammatory, or of an equally offensive nature may get deleted and the administrator and moderators may also choose to ban the author (depends on the post). This rule applies to ALL forums. These forums are here for gamers by gamers, and there are plenty of forums where you can post that other stuff if you really need to. In this manner, people only have to see here what they expect here. The moderator will be the sole judge here. There will be no further warning.
10- Advertising or adult material is NOT allowed. Pornographic stories, pictures, violent stories, etc. are NOT allowed. Links to external websites selling ANYTHING will be deleted or moved to purgatory (the Advertising thread.) Post them and they will get deleted. Repeatedly breaking the rule will get you banned (this is your warning on this subject. Do not expect a pre-ban warning. Our kids read this forum.) There will be no further warning.
11- The administrator and moderators are allowed to delete and modify posts/threads and/or ban you without giving you, or anyone else, an explanation. This is necessary to control the amount of posts that can be created by this type of situation.
12- DO NOT address your posts to anyone directly. That is what PM's are for. Please do not PM Sigil devs, they don't have time to respond. If your thread starts with things like; "Dear Sigil Devs," or "Silius, Please respond" or anything of that nature they will be deleted. Your post is no more important than anyone else's.
13- The [/b]administrator and moderators may add/change/remove rules whenever they see the need. [/b]When you post after these changes you agree with these new rules.
14- Forums may have specific rules. If you post in those forums you agree with those rules.
15- The administrator and moderators are allowed to “close” a thread whenever they please. They don't have to give you or anyone else an explanation. If you try to continue the “closed” thread with creating a new thread, this thread will be deleted. Repeatedly breaking the rule will get you banned (this is your warning on this subject. Do not expect a pre-ban warning.) Also, harassing the moderators in PM’s will result in an immediate ban. There will be no further warning.
16- Re-submitting of deleted post (does not matter if you're the author or not) will get you banned. There will be no further warning.
17- Do not use offensive usernames and/or pictures. This will get you banned. Do not use animated, large, or offensive Signatures or Avatars. Moderators will be the sole judge of this. There will be no further warning.
18- If you post in the "Rants & Flames" forum, you have to sign the posts with your in-game character name (read rule #7 for more information!). If your forum account is named after it, this is not necessary of course. For your info, the name of your level 3 twink camped in Targonor will not suffice. If you flame someone and this other person doesn’t know who you are, and this person requests for a deletion of the post, it’ll be considered an anonymous flame and therefore will be deleted. And as always, when you continue the practice, you'll get banned.
19- Creating multiple accounts to back your own posts up under another name is not only very lame, it’s also not allowed. The posts will get deleted, and if you continue, you might find yourself banned eventually. Remember, the administrator and moderators are allowed to publicize your IP address, and/or any related information.
20- Linking to pictures from a host that you do not control (i.e. 3rd party) is done at your own risk. If the host of the picture decides to change it onto something inappropriate and against the rules of this board, you will have to deal with the consequences. (Banstick) There will be no further warning.
21- Auctions for real cash are not permitted on these boards. Such auctions will get deleted, and you're risking losing your posting rights (in other words: Breaking the rule will get you banned. (this is your warning on this subject. Do not expect a pre-ban warning.)
22- Bumping threads to the top without any useful content in your post, i.e. to get it to top, you risk getting banned. If you want to show an old thread to someone, link it instead. If you find bumped threads, do not reply to it! Instead, please report it. Threads that are dying on the vine are doing so for a reason.
23- If you're caught posting one-liners to increase your postcount (repeatedly bumping threads may be considered such), we will reset your postcount to zero, nada, null, zilch! Eventually we'll ban you too.
24- Even though the board offers the feature to quote entire posts do NOT quote entire posts when a single line is enough to inform one what you're responding to. Please warn those who you see (ab)using the quoting feature and inform them of this rule.
25- Fake links are not funny and are not permitted. With fake links we mean fooling one by letting the hyperlink point somewhere else than the name it was given. You will be banned and we’ll publish your email address. There will be no further warning.
26- There is a zero-tolerance policy toward board spammers. If you even appear to be thinking about spamming the board, then the ban stick will be mightily and surely swung. Not messing around here, this isn't going to be a sewer and our readers are not going to have to be subjected to this. Spamming will be defined as; posting ads, inappropriate links, or continually whining like a wounded hyena about your personal problems with the game/forums/posters that you don't like. Suck it up. We don't want to hear you whining.
27- Make sure the title of your post is topical, and not smarmy. Here are some examples of weak thread titles; “Can’t be serious”, “Finally”, “Quick Question”, “A Suggestion.” I’m not sure what to do with these, but I’m tempted to change these titles myself. You might not appreciate my sense of humor, so please edit yourself. Aggressive titles will be changed and could result in progressive discipline.
Banishment
1- The administrator and moderators are allowed to do everything to get you banned from this board. Not only may they ban your IP, but they are also allowed to publicize your IP address (and all the other information you provided us with when you became a registered member on this board) that allows people to write complains to your ISP (Internet Service Provider).
2- The administrator and moderators are allowed to write all your information (IP address, other accounts you own, the guild you’re in) on the board so other people can prevent that you will be ruining their board also.
3- Bans may be temporary. Temporary or not, creation of mule accounts in attempt to bypass our ban will always result in a permanent ban and if we find it appropriate we will take it a step further and complain about you at your ISP (Internet Service Provider) and take any other step necessary to get rid of you.
4- If you're no longer welcome on our forum and we have repeatedly let you know by banning one or more of your accounts, we will do anything to get rid of you. If this means that we'll have to let our webserver forward you to the grossest sites on the net instead of getting the usual dull forum displayed on your screen, so be it!
I hope everyone understands why we have these rules. We want everyone to have fun, and we want this to be a civil and productive place to gather. Have fun...
